Biography



Dr. Bet J. Kotowski: Wellness Consultant, Educator, Coach, and Researcher

Dr. Kotowski has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.  She has done extensive research in the Wellness arena, which includes her doctoral dissertation, titled, "Guidelines for Wellness Programs in School Corporations." Additionally, Bet has been awarded "Elite Distinction -- World Class Level Marathon Runner," by the USA Athletic Congress. She has over 20 years of professional leadership experience at national, state (FL, IN, KY), and local levels.  Bet has served as an Assistant Superintendent for Rush County Public Schools in Indiana, and she was Director of Teacher Education for the State of Indiana.  Bet also served as an assistant professor of Statistics, Assessment and Evaluation. She has state and national experience as an Ambassador for the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), specifically, working in assessment and evaluation. 

In 2016, Bet transitioned from fulltime public school leadership and administration to promote her fulltime career in Wellness, a globally important area for which she has maintained a passion since the early 1980s.  Currently, she is a Wellness Consultant, specializing in nutrition for optimal health (especially weight loss & fitness), overall wellness, and sports.   Additionally, Bet is a certified Lead Evaluator for *AdvancED and continues to serve on Engagement Review Teams for accreditation and continuous school improvement.   She resides in Florida, with her husband, Tom (a Physicist), and they work together in research, business, and service.

(*AdvancED was created through a 2006 merger of PreK, K-12 divisions of the North Central Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and expanded through the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2012.)
